Privacy Policy

Fairline is operated by FairLine LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company. For anything in this policy, contact legal@fairline.io.

• Account details. Email address, name, and profile picture, provided through our sign-in provider (Clerk), including via Google sign-in if you use it. FairLine keeps its own copy of your email address in its database, and refreshes that copy each time you open your Settings page, so the service can send the alerts you asked for. We never see your password.
• Things you save. Your preferred sportsbooks, your unit size, your email alert choices, and your theme setting.
• Messages you send us. If you write to us through the contact form, we keep your name, email address, subject, message, IP address, and browser user agent. We keep them so we can reply to you and so we can spot spam. The email we receive includes your IP address and your browser user agent, and we send your IP address to Cloudflare so it can check that the form was not submitted by a bot.
• Technical data. Server logs (IP address, request paths, timestamps) kept for security and debugging, error reports when something breaks, and aggregate, cookieless page analytics from Cloudflare.
• Email events. If you opt into notifications: delivery and bounce events from our email provider, so we can stop sending to dead addresses.

We do not handle your card details ourselves: subscription payments are processed by Stripe through Clerk Billing, and Fairline never sees your card number. We also do not collect precise location or contacts, and the service is not directed to anyone under 21.

To run the product: authenticate you, show the boards and prices you came for, send the notifications you asked for, answer support requests, keep the service secure, and understand aggregate usage. That is the whole list, plus one first-party addition: if you arrived from one of our own campaign links, we record which campaign brought you (see Cookies below). No third-party advertising, no profiling, no sale or rental of personal data to anyone.

Fairline sets two kinds of first-party cookies. Clerk sets the session cookies that keep you logged in. Fairline writes a first-party cookie named fl-attrib on any first visit that arrives from an outside link, and keeps it for up to 90 days. If you then create an account it copies the cookie to your account profile once, so we know what brought you. The cookie holds the campaign tags on the link you followed, the page you landed on, and a timestamp. When the link carries no campaign tags, it holds the hostname of the site that referred you instead, and for a handful of AI assistants it records the name of the assistant that linked you, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or Gemini. It never holds your identity or your browsing history, and it is not shared with anyone. Your browser stores your theme preference under the key fl-theme. When you are signed in, Fairline copies it to your account profile too. It is not a tracking cookie. Our page analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) are cookieless. There are no third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Fairline runs on a small set of infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf:

• Clerk (authentication and account management)
• Railway (application hosting and database, including a weekly snapshot of the database volume kept for 27 days)
• Cloudflare (DNS, network security, cookieless analytics, spam protection on the contact form, and storage for the encrypted database backups)
• GitHub (runs the weekly backup job, which encrypts each database dump before uploading it)
• Resend (transactional and notification email)
• Sentry (error reporting)
• Stripe (subscription payments, connected through Clerk Billing)
• Slack (internal operational alerts, which can name an affected account)
• Proton (the mailbox that receives support@fairline.io)
• Google Fonts (serves the site typefaces to every visitor from fonts.googleapis.com, so Google receives your IP address and browser user agent when a page loads)

Each receives only what its job requires. Beyond these processors, we disclose personal data only if required by law or to protect the service, and, if FairLine LLC is ever acquired or merged, to the successor under this same policy.

If you connect Fairline to an AI assistant (for example, Claude via our MCP connector), the assistant retrieves data from your account on your instruction: slates, odds, prices. What that assistant's provider does with data it receives is governed by its own privacy policy, not this one. We receive from the connection only what is needed to authenticate it and serve its requests. Fairline also checks your subscription status when the connector asks for data, so the assistant sees only what your plan covers. You can revoke its access at any time from the assistant's settings.

Account data is kept while your account exists. Server and error logs are kept on short provider-default windows. To delete your account and its data, email legal@fairline.io or support@fairline.io from your account address. Once your account is deleted in Clerk, our sign-in provider, we delete FairLine's own records of you from the live database within 30 days, except what we must keep for legal or security reasons. Encrypted database backups age out on their own schedule, up to a year for the monthly copy. Railway, our host, also takes a weekly snapshot of the database volume and keeps each one for 27 days. We do not restore a deleted account from either.

You can request a copy of your data, correction, or deletion at any time via legal@fairline.io. We honor these requests for all users regardless of jurisdiction. Depending on where you live (including under Connecticut's Data Privacy Act), you may have additional statutory rights; nothing in this policy limits them.

All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Database backups are encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited to FairLine LLC. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you as the law requires.
